Details:
The City of Vancouver Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation Department and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest are co-hosting a free, all day event in celebration of National Get Outdoors Day, a day to re-connect youth and families with all of the fun and benefits the great outdoors offers.
The facility is located on the Columbia River and is surrounded by 50 acres of native plant gardens and natural wetlands. The nearby Vancouver Renaissance trail is a paved waterfront trail which links to downtown Vancouver and to Fort Vancouver, offering opportunities to bike and hike to the event and to nearby attractions. The trail also provides access to the banks of the Columbia River.
We hope to see you down at the Water Center on Saturday, June 13, where will kick off a summer full of active, healthy fun in the great outdoors. We'll provide plenty of activities, helpful information, free gifts, and great prizes to encourage new and experienced visitors alike to spend more time playing and exploring the great outdoors, from your own backyards, to neighborhood/community parks and trails, to regional parks and public lands. Come get ideas for kick starting your healthy outdoor lifestyle and learn about new and exciting outdoor adventures that lie right outside of your door! Come meet Smokey the Bear and Ranger Rick!
