The U.S. Forest Service invites the public to enjoy the great outdoors and reconnect with their National Forests in Florida on June 13 and year-round. The
Apalachicola, Osceola and Ocala forest lands cover more than 1.2 million acres in North and Central Flordia and offer easily accessible and affordable outdoor adventures and vacation opportunities. The National Forests in Florida also manage the 1,400-mile Florida National Scenic Trail, one of eight National Scenic Trails in the United States, which the public can enjoy.

Apalachicola National Forest
- Six watersheds within this forest provide an abundance of fresh water streams, rivers, lakes and one natural spring that provide numerous water recreational opportunities.
- Off of Highway 319 south of Tallahassee, the Leon Sinks Geological Area contains five miles of trail that leads to a series of sinkholes large and small.
- Two scenic byways, the Apalachee Savannah and Big Bend, provide viewing opportunities of well-managed and pleasing forest landscapes great for a Sunday drive.

Osceola National Forest
- Some popular recreational activities are camping, hiking, horseback riding, exploring on off-road vehicles and hunting.
-Enjoy the water or fish from your campsite at Ocean Pond Campground located on the north side of Ocean Point, a 1,760-acre natural lake.
- Fish, swim, boat or picnic along the scenic, white sandy beach shores of Ocean Pond at Olustee Beach located on the south side of Ocean Pond.

Ocala National Forest
- This forest offers recreational activities as diverse as the environment -- from canoeing in wilderness and waterways, swimming in crystal-clear springs, picknicking, fishing, birding, year-round camping, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and exploring trails on off-road vehicles.
- Four natural springs -- Juniper Springs, Salt Springs, Alexander Springs, and Silver Glen Springs -- are perfect recreation spots for camping, canoeing, swimming and snorkeling.
- Looking to spend the night under the stars? This forest offers year-round camping with a variety of amenities and recreation opportunities. Camping is available at 17 campgrounds, four group use areas, four primitive areas, two cabins and the general forest area.
